ISSUE 1 | 2018

Welcome to the first issue of Boldly Long4Life. Long4Life is an investment holding company that focuses predominantly on lifestyle businesses with attractive growth prospects, led by strong, entrepreneurial-minded management teams. It’s a story that began in 2017, and one that will develop for a long time to come.

Inhle opens advanced new facility

Beverage contract packager Inhle, one of Long4Life's early acquisitions, has expanded its operations in Heidelberg, Gauteng with the launch of a versatile new facility.
The facility will initially be used to expand the Long4Life Beverage Division's warehousing capacity, but has been designed in such a way that it allows for the efficient expansion of production capability in the future.

The development is expected to unlock further synergies between Inhle and Long4Life stable-mate Chill Beverages, allowing for the production of Western-Cape-based Chill's brands closer to markets in the north of the country.
Collectively, Inhle and Chill present an exciting opportunity for Long4Life to enhance its presence in the growing South African
beverage space.

Sportsmans Warehouse Sandton City launch

The new Sportsmans Warehouse Sandton City store opened its doors on 22 September 2018, marking an evolution of the concept and a milestone for the brand. The new store is the 44th Sportsmans Warehouse to open.

At just 1 000m2 it's a smaller format than the usual 1 200m2 and above stores, but offers the same full-concept experience. Excitingly, the store will pilot RUN-id, the latest technology in athletic-footwear and gait diagnostics and fitment, which is exclusive to Sportsmans Warehouse.

The store is well-positioned and marks an excellent opportunity to expand market share and enhance the brand in terms of being at home in malls as well as a destination shopping experience. Sportsmans Warehouse Sandton is a glimpse of the future of the brand. We hope to see you there.

Veldskoen partners
with Springboks

Veldskoen, the first recipient of Long4Life's venture capital funding, is taking off, having recently been selected as an official licensed product for the South African Rugby Union. To mark the partnership Veldskoen has unveiled a brand-new Springbok-inspired design.

The Veldskoen team has also opened up a new office space that they've combined with a warehouse and distribution centre. As befits a startup that's committed to efficient, digital distribution, the new space bridges traditional functionality and reflects the company's disruptive ethos. Veldskoen is also bringing likeminded colleagues into the fold, offering flexible working space to fellow digital creatives. Looking to launch an exciting new range of product later this year – plakkies, Vellies and a ladies' range of Veldskoens. Find out more, and see how the team has updated a South African icon, at

Beverages overview with Grant Hobbs

Long4Life's Beverage Division consists of two 15-year-old business units: Inhle in Heidelberg and Chill in Stellenbosch. Each has grown very rapidly over the past five years, and the two now comprise approximately 600 employees.

Both Inhle and Chill were recently acquired by Long4Life, so in addition to coping with their own rapid growth they are embracing becoming part of a consolidated division as well as a larger listed entity.

It is imperative to the group that being part of a larger organisation does not suppress the entrepreneurial flare inherent in both business units. Thankfully the division is blessed with natural leaders and an ethos of innovation and passion. Long4Life is absolutely committed to building a world-class beverage business and expanding the profile of our well-loved brands which currently include, Fitch & Leedes, Bashews, Score, XCite, Chateau Del Rei and Country Club with the latest products launched being Fitch & Leedes Blue Tonic and Cheeky Cranberry.
